1. What measures would you take to ensure the confidential character of your group? How would you deal with a member who broke confidentiality?
2. Under what circumstances would you feel compelled to breach confidentiality of a member in a counseling group? How would you handle this situation?
3. When working with a group composed of involuntary members, what would you do differently from when working with a voluntary group?
4. Discuss at least three of your personal philosophical beliefs or personal values that might influence your work as a group leader. How will these beliefs or values influence your group leadership?
5. Go to http://www.counseling.org/Resources/CodeOfEthics/TP/Home/CT2.aspx Examine the American Counseling Association's Code of Ethics. Identify at least three elements of the code that might have particular relevance for group leaders. Discuss the relevance of these elements for group leaders.
6. Write a brief, fictional account of a group session in which you as a group leader are faced with an ethical dilemma. Write some dialogue between you and group members to illustrate your handling of this difficult situation.
